Sunderland players celebrate

Sides that were relegated in the season just gone will be wanting to get players off the wage bill and the players themselves might not fancy a season in the Championship.

Ian: Jarrod Bowen on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy if West Ham fail to win promotion would be an intriguing move. Playing alongside Granit Xhaka and gaining experience in European competition could do him the world of good. He has the potential to prove a real bargain.

Ryan: There are a few players from West Ham I think. Bowen would be fantastic signing. I'm not sure there's anyone from West Ham and Wolves that would improve us though.

Jacob: I think there's only really Jarrod Bowen that would get into our team I think.

Danny: I'd be looking at players from the relegated clubs who could add both experience and quality. From West Ham, Mads Hermansen would be a strong option as competition and cover for Robin Roefs, while Bowen would strengthen the right flank. From Wolves, João Gomes could add energy and steel in midfield. Burnley pair Quilindschy Hartman at left-back and Jaidon Anthony on the wing would also be worth considering.

Sarah: Left-back feels like a priority area, so Oliver Scarles would appeal, particularly given the value of homegrown players. I've also been impressed by Zian Flemming at Burnley, although I suspect any deal for him would come at a significant cost.

Lewis: Sunderland's recruitment has rightly focused on smart deals and emerging talent from across Europe, but there are one or two players from the relegated clubs who could fit the profile. Flemming is one name that stands out. He offers a useful blend of height, pace and finishing ability, qualities that could translate well to the way Sunderland play.

Jeff: Personally, I wouldn't target anyone from the relegated sides. Sunderland's recruitment team has earned a great deal of trust. Very few supporters predicted last summer's arrivals, yet the club ended up bringing in a transformational figure in Granit Xhaka rather than some of the names being linked at the time. On that basis, I'm confident the club will identify the right targets again this summer.
