The Foxes appeared to be closing in on a first victory in a month when Wales midfielder Jordan James struck in the first half, only for Broadhead to punish a lapse in concentration with 13 minutes to play.

It was the 27-year-old’s first Championship goal since his £7.5m move from Ipswich Town in the summer and his introduction on the hour helped Phil Parkinson’s side shift the momentum after a subdued opening.

How the action unfolded

Leicester, without a win since early September, dominated possession but once again lacked conviction in front of goal. Bobby De Cordova-Reid hit the post in a lively start while Wrexham missed a clear opening when Lewis O’Brien failed to take advantage of a loose back pass from Hamza Choudhury.

The breakthrough came after 33 minutes when James, back in the side alongside Patson Daka, exchanged passes with the striker before calmly finishing off a sweeping 13-pass move that began with goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk.

Yet Parkinson’s substitutions in the second half gave Wrexham renewed energy and unsettled the home side. The equaliser arrived when O’Brien forced Victor Kristiansen into an error on the byline and delivered for Broadhead to fire beyond Stolarczyk.

Broadhead almost won it in the closing stages, an effort that underlined Leicester’s ongoing struggles and drew audible frustration from sections of the home crowd. In the end though, a solid and worthwhile evenings work for Phil Parkinson's side.

Leicester fans frustrated with more dropped points

There were audible boos from a small selection of the crowd at full-time. This is Leicester's fourth draw in a row and many fans believe this may cost them as they look to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Junior Smith, a Leicester City season ticket holder told us: "The boos at the end were very striking to me. I thought it was a poor performance. Harry Winks aside, I could not find many positives. That was abject to me. There was not enough threat, desire or pace on the ball. They were strolling through the game and should have been out of sight."

Mohamed tred to examine Leciester’s problems and believes the lack of a traditional number 9 is a problem. He told us: "The absence of an established number nine is causing Leicester problems as Marti Cifuentes wrestles with the starting XI for each game, and the end product looks toothless."
