Todd Cantwell had given the hosts hope of a first home win this season when he headed Blackburn into the lead. The goal arrived from the team’s only clear first-half chance, Ryan Alebiosu’s deflected cross finding Cantwell, whose header bounced through Ben Cabango’s legs and into the net.

Swansea threatened to respond when Cameron Burgess’ header went narrowly wide, and the equaliser arrived just before half-time. A patient passing move ended with Josh Tymon setting up Franco at the far post, and the Portuguese midfielder finished with aplomb, crashing the ball across goal into the far corner.

Blackburn pressed for a second early in the second half, Cantwell denied by Swansea goalkeeper Benjamin Vigouroux, before Alan Sheehan’s bold changes reshaped his side’s attack. Two of his four substitutes combined to put Swansea ahead. After Augustus Kargbo’s loose touch, Adam Idah surged down the right and squared the ball for Cullen to score his first goal of the season.

Blackburn continued to probe in the closing stages, with Yuki Ohashi’s header saved by Vigouroux and Cantwell’s late penalty appeals after Burgess’ challenge turned down. Frustration boiled over as Cantwell and manager Valerien Ismael were both booked for protesting the decision.

Swansea fans delighted with three points.
