Emily: Hooray for the Championship. More teams, more fixtures, more victories and more enjoyment for supporters, not to mention the absence of VAR. Promotion always brings a lift, but the Premier League can feel a joyless place for followers of clubs such as Burnley.

Edward: Dear Mr Pace, now relegation is confirmed, can we have our club back? It is hard to believe Scott Parker can remain in charge given the current standard. Performances have deteriorated, a sense of gloom has settled, attendances are falling and, predictably, so are results. You may not claim to be a football expert, but as a businessman you must recognise that meaningful change is needed.

Ronald: The manager has not extracted the best from this squad. Defensively we were exposed in transition, leaving spaces that were repeatedly punished. At the other end, chance creation and finishing were lacking, with only Zian Flemming and Jaidon Anthony offering consistent quality. It has been a deeply disappointing campaign. The question now is where Burnley go next.

Jeffrey: Promotion to the Premier League demands investment. Fail to strengthen and relegation follows. Burnley have learned that lesson once more.

Graham: Scott Parker looks out of his depth. There appears to be little tactical clarity, questionable team selections and baffling substitutions. He could have been dismissed much earlier in the season. Instead, the club has drifted amid poor leadership and largely underperforming players. Without a major overhaul, retaining only the likes of Dubravka, Flemming, Anthony and perhaps Cullen, along with a new manager, Burnley may struggle even in the Championship. Another relegation fight next season feels a very real possibility.
