Managerless Hibernian showed plenty of determination and fight to come back and earn a draw against an improving Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership

Club legend David Gray was sacked as head coach after Tuesday's defeat by bottom side Kilmarnock, a sixth successive home league loss stretching back to last season.

Initially, there was little response to the departure of the much-loved Hibs figure, and Kevin Nisbet ensured there were more boos at half-time at Easter Road when a neat turn and finish put Aberdeen ahead.

However, Hibs emerged with far greater impetus after the break and eventually levelled through Martin Boyle's penalty after Aberdeen defender Jack Milne bundled Jason Kerr to the ground.

Both clubs knew the importance of going into the international break with a victory and were aggressive in their pursuit of all three points.

But neither side could find enough quality in the final third, with headers from Aberdeen's Milne and Hibernian's Ante Suto both failing to find the net when they should have scored.

Hibs, under interim manager John Potter, did at least avoid an unprecedented seventh successive home league defeat, while Aberdeen extended their unbeaten Premiership run to three matches.
