Ipswich Town meet Queens Park Rangers knowing that a win would secure their return to the Premier League at the first attempt. The Tractor Boys currently sit second in the Championship table, while QPR have slipped to 14th after a recent dip in form.
Ipswich form going into this crucial afternoon
The midweek 2-2 draw away at an in-form Southampton on Tuesday night means victory here would seal an immediate return to England’s top flight.
Defeat would leave Ipswich vulnerable, with both Millwall and Middlesbrough poised to move above them, while a draw could see them slip to third should Millwall beat Oxford United.
Kieran McKenna will draw encouragement from a run that has seen Ipswich lose just once in their past 14 Championship matches.
Their home form has also been strong, with only one defeat in 22 outings at Portman Road, alongside 13 wins and eight draws.
Yet there remains a note of caution, with nine successive second-tier matches passing without Ipswich scoring more than twice.
