The match is expected to be a closely fought affair, with both sides posing a threat in front of goal. Brighton’s recent form suggests they may hold a slight advantage, particularly given their strong record at home.
For Newcastle, their last two performances against Club Brugge and Nottingham Forest have been significantly improved after a disappointing start to the season. New signing Woltemade is starting to look like fantastic value for money. His penalty technique is also worth watching out for.
Team news for both sides
Eddie Howe has confirmed that Yoane Wissa has returned to light training on the grass for the first time, although his expected recovery timeline remains unchanged. Jacob Ramsey has also trained well this week and is likely to be included in the squad for Saturday’s match.
The Newcastle manager added that all players have come back from the international break in good condition. There had been a minor concern over Joelinton, but the midfielder now appears to be fine. He has also issued an update on Tino Livramento.

"Tino is out of the brace, no massive changes to the time frame that he was given, but he is feeling positive.
Yoane’s had his first time on the grass with us which was great to see. We need to step him up gradually. I know he is… pic.twitter.com/aEnDHoCGmc
Brighton will be without Brajan Gruda, who remains sidelined with a knee injury, while Diego Gomez faces a late assessment after returning from international duty with a thigh problem.
Kaoru Mitoma and Joel Veltman have resumed training, although there remains some uncertainty over their availability for the weekend.
Key stats and facts ahead of this match
Newcastle United have managed just two wins from 16 Premier League meetings with Brighton, drawing eight and losing six, giving them a win rate of only 13 per cent, their lowest against any side they have faced more than three times in the competition.
All three of Newcastle’s away fixtures in the league this season have ended goalless. In the history of English league football, only one team has seen their first four away matches of a campaign finish 0-0, Notts County in the Third Division South during the 1935-36 season.
Brighton, meanwhile, remain unbeaten in eight Premier League home encounters with Newcastle, winning three and drawing five. The Magpies are the only side to have visited the Amex Stadium on five or more occasions without ever recording a victory.
