After the match, we spoke with a number of Celtic fans who explored both positive and negative aspects of the result and performance.

Let's explore what some of those fans had to say

Gerry: A strong second-half showing and a well-taken goal. That said, Kelechi Iheanacho should have had a hat-trick as he passed up two simpler chances in front of goal. There remains a real concern over Liam Scales, who looked vulnerable whenever he was tested and left his man free for their goal. It is hard to see what the manager sees in him. A point before kick-off would have seemed acceptable, so there is no real disappointment, but the opportunity was there for more.

Andi: Kasper Schmeichel was at fault for the goal, completely misjudging his decision to come off his line.

Celtic pressure

Steven: In the first half we created nothing. In the second we carved out some excellent chances and could easily have been four ahead before they scored. It was a positive second-half display and a great point to take. Now we need to build on it.

Alvin: It is puzzling why Paulo Bernardo, one of our best players, cannot get into the side. The formation looks stale and easy for opponents to read. One positive was that Celtic created enough chances to win, although they were denied by some outstanding goalkeeping and a touch of luck for the opposition.

Tony: A point looks respectable on paper, but the game exposed frailties in both midfield and defence. The midfield lacks pace and the technical ability to break down teams, while the defence does not look capable of holding a clean sheet when leading. I fear we will be out after the league phase.

A fantastic atmosphere

Daz: A good result for Celtic, who improved in the second half. Daizen Maeda looks as though his head is gone, and he should be moved on soon.

Steven: A decent performance against a side who rarely fail to score at home. Onwards and upwards. It is time for Bernardo, Arne Engels and Maeda to step up. With Jota and Alistair Johnston returning, Celtic should be stronger.

Patrick: Celtic merited their point. It is a tough place to go but the team stuck to their task. Iheanacho’s finish was clinical and he looks an astute free signing. There is hope that Celtic can enjoy a long run in the competition. Another Seville adventure would be welcome.
