Snoeijs opened the scoring after only six minutes, linking neatly with strike partner Kelly Gago on the edge of the area before sending a precise low finish beyond Rachael Laws at the Kop end.

A closer look at what happened
Liverpool, seeking a first league derby win since May 2019, pushed for a response and went close when Taylor Hinds’ dipping effort from distance clipped the crossbar midway through the first half. Despite sustained pressure, they were unable to break down Everton's defence.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Matt Beard’s side dominating possession but struggling to convert chances. Everton, disciplined and compact, weathered the storm before striking again with 20 minutes to play.

Toni Payne drove down the left on a weaving run and delivered a teasing ball to the far post, where full-back Holmgaard arrived to double the lead.
There was late drama when Holmgaard’s twin sister, Sara, was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card for halting Olivia Smith’s counter-attack.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Brian Sørensen’s side held firm to seal a first win in six league matches. The result narrows the gap between the two teams to just two points and completes a WSL double for Everton, who also triumphed 1–0 at Goodison Park earlier in the season.
